ABOUT THE MAGGIE STEIN
Maggie was born in Goulburn, NSW and has lived in Sydney for most of her adult life.
In high school, Maggie benefited from having an encouraging art teacher, Mrs Eglitis. She was colourful, adventurous and passionate and nurtured Maggie’s creative explorations.
Maggie completed a degree in Visual art at City Art Intstitue (now COFA) graduating in 1987.
Over the years, Maggie has been shortlisted in numerous art prizes. In 2019 she was awarded the People’s Choice in both The Urban Edge Art Award in Sydney and the Blue Mountains Print Award. Since 2013 Maggie has had 10 solo shows in Sydney as well as being part of various group shows in Sydney, regional NSWs and Victoria.
In 2025 Maggie’s prints were short listed in The Fishers Ghost, Gosford and Wollongong Art Awards. This year her work has a finalist in The Stanthorpe Art Award and is currently showing in the Swan Hill Print and Drawing Award in Victoria. Her print, “Falling Water, Colour” is soon to be shown as a finalist in The Hornsby Art Prize.
